Controlled folder access
IMPORTANT SoftMaker Office cannot save settings or documents on your PC
This page is displayed because your Windows operating system is misconfigured.
Do not ignore this problem because SoftMaker Office does not function correctly with this misconfiguration.
You have enabled the feature "Controlled folder access" in Windows, but you have not allowed the SoftMaker Office applications access through it. As a result, Windows prevents SoftMaker Office from saving documents and settings.
As SoftMaker Office cannot function if important folders are blocked, you should disable "Controlled folder access".
Simple solution: Disable “Controlled folder access”
- Enter the search term "ransomware" in the search field of the Windows Taskbar and click on the program found.
- The window Ransomware protection will open.
- Disable "Controlled folder access" and close the window again.
Advanced solution: Whitelist SoftMaker Office for “Controlled folder access”
Experienced users can also leave "Controlled folder access" enabled and add the individual SoftMaker Office applications to its whitelist. To do so, proceed as follows:
- Enter the search term "ransomware" in the search field of the Windows Taskbar and click on the program found.
- The window Ransomware protection will open.
- Make sure that "Controlled folder access" is enabled and click on Allow an app through Controlled folder access.
- Then click on "Add an allowed app". Select "Recently blocked apps" to allow recently blocked programs, or "Browse all apps" to allow other programs. In the latter case, a file dialog appears. In it, change to the folder Program Files > SoftMaker Office NX or Program Files (x86) > SoftMaker Office NX and add the following applications:
- TextMaker.exe
- PlanMaker.exe
- Presentations.exe
- BasicMaker.exe
- Then close the window again.
