SOLVED. For FILE - OPEN it was set to All Documents
Switched to All Files & that allows me to open multiple documents at the same time

open multiple documents at same time

Can someone please tell me how to open 2 documents side by side? When I open a document it opens it & when a 2nd one is opened it closes the first one & opens the 2nd. I need to have multiple documents open at the same time. It must be possible & a simple setting that needs to be changed...
